The new 100 acre headquarters complex embodies the companys One Toyota vision to create a unified operation in North America BY MIKE ANTICH M arking its 60th anniversary of doing business in the U S Toyota Motor North America TMNA has nearly completed the construction of its all new corporate headquarters in Plano Texas Previously the corporate headquarters was located in Torrance Calif On the eve of 60th anniversary in the U S AF had an opportunity to tour the new state of the art North American headquarters complex on Oct 30 Costing approximately 1 billion more than 4000 Toyota team members will work within the 21 million square foot complex that is comprised of seven major buildings clustered together on a 100 acre campus Three years earlier Toyota announced its One Toyota initiative to create more unified operations in North America in part by bringing together its quality engineering sales marketing financial services and corporate functions in one location The new North American headquarters in addition to improvements to its existing manufacturing facilites are part of a 10 billion capital investments in the U S that Toyota will spend over the next five years FIRST LOOK TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA ALL NEW CORPORATE HQ IN TEXAS Above is a graphic representation of TMNA corporate campus as displayed on one of the many smart boards located through the headquarters The North American corporate headquarters has three entrances One for Toyota the second for Lexus and the third for Toyota Financial Services This is the Toyota entrance comprised of two buildings connected by a shared lobby All Toyota team member work stations are sit stand workstations In the foreground are some of the 30 people in the Toyota Fleet Department who cumulatively managed 10 of all Toyota sales The Sequoia Conference Center located inside the TMNA corporate campus will be the venue for Toyotas 2019 Fleet Preview which will be held in June 2018 It has seating for 500 people AUTOMOTIVE FLEET I DECEMBER 2017 36 In the northwest corner of the 100 acre campus is a vehicle test track
